Other Notes:
This course focuses on “Closed” Grief Support Groups – i.e. Therapeutic Grief Support Groups that run for 12-14 Weeks on a weekly basis. Obviously, they have a start, a middle and an end.
Such groups can be incredibly powerful and meaningful for the bereaved, especially in the sharing of experiences, challenges, feelings, and societal reactions. They will require good preparation, and compassionate & competent facilitation.
They could be General Grief Support Groups – bringing together people with all types of bereavement and at various stages of their grief experience. OR, they could be Specialist Grief Support Groups – bringing together people who have been bereaved with a certain type of death (bereaved by suicide, bereaved parents, bereaved by miscarriage, or bereaved grandparents, for example).
This course is ideal for any organisation who wants to start running Grief Support Groups, and will provide prospective facilitators with a an effective, constructive and caring framework for running the group.
