Other Notes:
More than 70% of us wants to die at home, surrounded by familiar possessions, and within the loving embrace of family and loved ones.

Sadly, most die in a hospital or nursing home. While the hospice movement goes some way towards providing a caring environment for a good death, hospitals and nursing homes have ended up medicalising and sterilising death to such an extent that dying appears to have become another protracted stage of living.

This comprehensive, challenging and wide-ranging course is aimed at community nursing staff, medical staff, palliative care staff, social prescribers, link workers and anyone who wants to learn more about working compassionately and effectively with the dying (& their families).

This is the extended version of the Certificate in End-of-Life Practices 1 course and includes four additional learning units and extra ideas.
