Other Notes:
The loss of a young child is, perhaps, the most emotive and most emotional of all deaths – a life not lived, a role unfulfilled, the end of dreams & plans, and the evoking of intense feelings and emotions for the parents.
Loss in the womb or at birth – through miscarriage, stillbirth and termination – is a significant & serious bereavement, yet one whose impact society still undervalues and fails to understand. It often leaves the bereaved parents open to society’s secondary hurts and injuries.
Moreover, the bereaved couple face the enormous challenge of the “Gender Differences of Grieving Parents” – again, a challenge whose impact society has undervalued and failed to grasp.
This course is aimed at anyone whose role may encompass supporting bereaved parents in whatever capacity; and will enhance their knowledge and understanding around a series of immense emotional challenges for the grieving couple.
