Other Notes:

Death, Dying and Grief are still the big taboos in our society, and few people want to talk about it or discuss what it means to them personally.

Consequently, after the death of a close loved one, the bereaved may well find it hard to access good quality and experienced grief support.

This course is for all those individuals who either want to start supporting the bereaved in some capacity, or who are already doing so within their current work role.

It may be that they do not want to go through the lengthy training required to become a counsellor or psychotherapist; and, therefore, the role of a Grief Guide could be ideal for them.

This course provides a comprehensive and informative overview of Grief (Post-Death and Anticipatory), current societal attitudes towards it, and the main issues and types of deaths within Grief. It also focuses on the development of good basic counselling and listening skills, as well as exploring the role of a Grief Guide.
