This course is aimed at those who are already qualified and practising counsellors or psychotherapists, AND who wish to start working with bereaved children and young people.
One of the main aims – when working with bereaved children and young people – is to help them find their “metaphor” for their grief. In other words, we need to help them find the most appropriate medium through which they can understand their grief and all of its related feelings and emotions. Consequently, we will be exploring a significan number of mediums (sand trays, memory jars, drawing, feeling stones, journalling and bibliotherapy, for example) within the focus on non-directive play therapy.
